24 November, Wednesday; Cape Town, South Africa.
Thinking that we got a great start on the morning (for us…we don’t have kids and like to sleep in!), we arrived at the Robben Island visitor’s center at 9:30am to be told that they were sold out for the next 5 days. Bummer, but I guess that just means we have a built-in excuse to visit Cape Town again!
After a leisurely stroll around the waterfront and marina, we stopped to enjoy a cider before heading to the aquarium. Oh, how I love being on vacation.
I love the mix of the new and old
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a boat to park here
Enjoying a cider before noon and not feeling the slightest bit guilty.
We thought this was a giant lego man.
Turns out he was made of a gazillion coke containers.
I wonder if I’ve drunk this many cokes in my lifetime?!?!
The aquarium left a bit to be desired, but we are a bit spoiled after our visits to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. Some of the highlights.
You can’t really tell from this pic, but this eel was GIGANTIC.
This kelp forest exhibit pales in comparison to diving the real thing in Monterrey, but I like this pic. It makes me think of a scene out of one of the Alien movies.
Get me out of here!
Help me…I’m being attacked by clown fish!
And now a quiz. Notice something missing from this clown fish?
