Once again I find myself at a coffee shop, I think they must be replacing Internet cafes as the place to get online!
Darren and Jackie had an excellent Stage 4, they came in 17th in the Open Mixed group with a time of 7 hours 14 minutes. That’s up from 21st place and they are now 126th overall! Another few days like this and they’ll be in the top half, which is really their aim, well at least Darren’s, I think Jackie will just be very pleased to finish and not come in after the cut off times!
No photos of them for Stage 4 but I did the laundry, picked up the apple pies and got the tent set up. I’ve had two long driving days, today it’s apparently 4 hours over 230km, but I’m 2 hours in and I have a feeling I only have 50k to go.
I’m slowly turning into Jeremy Clarkson on the way, as I’m constantly blocked by Caravans and can probably be heard cursing loudly!
(A typical day’s driving, and the mess that it leaves on the car)
(You’d think I was camping in the middle of nowhere, but from another angle you can see ‘Tent City’)
(With the most amazing mountains surrounding us, Jackie and Darren start stage 5)
